Zambia: AIDS - Live and Let Die?
Duration: 28'21" or 14'44"
Producer: Jonathan Miller
Veronica Mwansa is 14 and dying of AIDS. When she was six she was brutally raped. Today she is in continuous pain and every day she feels worse. In the rich world we have the drugs that would save her life. The problem is not just the cost. The extraordinary film shows why making drugs widely available in countries like Zambia - where every day 200 people die from AIDS - risks the spread of new, drug-resistant strains of HIV. There are 22 million Africans dying of AIDS - now it's finally in the interests of the rest of the world to take notice.
